Former winners of this award include Laura Ingraham, Rahm Emanuel, Alex Castellanos, James Carville, and George Stephanopoulos.

Front Porch Strategies, formerly known as Matthew D. Parker & Associates, was formed in late 2006. Prior to forming the organization, Parker worked as a senior account executive at BrabenderCox, an award winning political, media, and marketing firm. Prior to his work at BrabenderCox, Parker served as a top congressional aide, campaign manager, and a White House intern in the Office of Political Affairs, where he served under the leadership of former RNC Chairman and then White House Political Director Ken Mehlman.

In 2004, Parker was elected Chairman of the Belmont County, Ohio Republican Party. At 22 years of age, he was the youngest GOP county chairman in Ohio. Parker significantly increased the fundraising operations of the party, served as a liaison to the Bush-Cheney ‘04 campaign, and advised the Chris Berhalter for Prosecutor campaign. Chris Berhalter became the first Republican elected as Prosecutor in Belmont County in 78 years.

In 2007, Parker served as the campaign manager for Congressman Bob Latta in a special election to replace the deceased Congressman Paul Gillmor. Congressman Latta won a hotly contested primary election where he was outspent by nearly $500,000 in special interest money. Latta went on to win a landslide general election victory-capturing all 16 counties in Ohio’s sprawling 5th Congressional District. The Latta campaign was the first congressional campaign to utilize Victory VoIP technology.
